“Leonard Bernstein’s America!”

April 25th & 26th, 2026

11:30AM & 1:00PM

The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College

The legendary American composer and conductor visits us in the concert hall for our Nation’s 250th Birthday, and Professor Treblemaker is excited to learn exactly what we mean by ‘American’ music. Mr. Bernstein is thrilled to share, and takes us on a Journey to hear his most cherished pieces, alongside classics by his friends like Aaron Copland. We also explore musical traditions–from Latin to Jazz–that influenced his amazing work... You won’t want to miss it!

New York Theatre Ballet School!

We are thrilled to invite the New York Theatre Ballet School to join us once again! Talented dancers will join us with brand new choreography to Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony, and Borodin's Polovtsian Dances. You won't want to miss it!

NYTB School was founded in 1978 as the official training school of New York Theatre Ballet. Graded classes are offered at the pre-ballet through advanced levels. Teaching assistants guarantee highly individualized instruction. The school teaches dance as a total art form, developing strong technical skill and discipline. Following the Cecchetti syllabus, classes emphasize music, theatricality, gesture and style. For qualified students, the school’s unique relationship with NYTB provides performing experience throughout the year in ballets featuring roles for children.
