Celebrating 67 years of performances this season, The Little Orchestra Society shares the vitality of live classical music and seeks to build future audiences by presenting innovative concert productions for audiences of all ages. Through our concerts and education programs, we make concertgoing and engagement in the performing arts a lifelong pursuit for anyone and everyone!
Our 2014-2015 season includes four fun-filled educational Lolli-Pops ™ programs for children ages 5 and under, featuring 2 brand new programs and audience favorites Things that Go Bang! and Tubby the Tuba. A fabulous Happy Concerts season for older children and families begins at New York City Center in November with a tour de force music and dance production by ballet, modern dance and Cirque du Soleil choreographer Karole Armitage, and also includes gorgeous productions of two Prokofiev classics - Peter and the Wolf at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera Center and Cinderella and the Prince Who Slays the Magic Dragon at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. The Little Orchestra Society® is proud to be New York City's orchestra for audiences of all ages!
